Located less than a mile from Cambridge City Centre, in the vibrant Romsey area of mixed residential and commercial properties, the site was cleared at the end of 2020 to make way for a new development of houses, apartments and one commercial unit.

This is a landmark site of Romsey Town. Before this redevelopment, locals will recall the site was partly occupied by the Cambridge Bed Centre and previously Dutch’s Corner Garage. Works commenced on site in October 2020 and were completed in July 2022. The development consists of three distinct blocks. Dutch’s Corner is a modern building set over three floors providing a small commercial unit on the ground floor surrounded by six apartments. Holland Place is a row of five unique terraced single storey one and two bedroom houses at the back of Dutch’s Corner. And last, but not least, three modern terraced houses on Ross Street, continuing the row of Victorian terraced houses. The new development is named Dutch’s Corner and Holland Place, recognising Dutch’s Corner Garage which traded on the site from the early 1960’s, including a car showroom, and its proprietor Frank Holland, whose family had owned the site since around 1917.

Location

The property is located on the corner of Mill Road which is one of Cambridge’s most vibrant destinations with many independent cafes, pubs and international restaurants, quirky shops, barbers and hair salons, and Ross Street – a quiet, residential street with Victorian terraced houses and Romsey recreation ground further down the street. It is a short walk from the city centre and the train station.
